Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated Portfolio Analyst to join our PRIME Division. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our team, responsible for managing and tracking a portfolio of 6-8 companies that are either approaching IPO or are in the Micro-Equities sector. Your role involves conducting in-depth analysis post-investment, assisting in strategic decision-making on whether to hold or divest, and engaging in market research, including interactions with dealers, customers, and suppliers. This position is designed as a pathway to becoming an Associate, with a strong focus on portfolio management—a key driver of value creation in venture capital.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Managing and supporting a portfolio of 6-8 companies within the PRIME Division, monitoring their performance, and making strategic recommendations.
  • Post-Investment Analysis: Analyze financial statements, quarterly reports, and market data to assess the ongoing viability of investments and make informed recommendations on holding or divesting.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research, including competitor analysis and industry trends, and engage directly with stakeholders like dealers, customers, and suppliers to gather insights.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Contribute to discussions and decisions regarding the enhancement or divestment of investments, ensuring alignment with Artha’s overall strategy.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present detailed reports to the investment team and board members, effectively communicating your findings and strategic recommendations.
  • Continuous Learning: You will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing training to enhance your skills in financial modeling, market analysis, and public market investing. Qualifications:

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) is strongly preferred, though an MBA in Finance with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Skills:
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and market research.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and investment management software.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly present complex data and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: Prior experience in portfolio management or public markets analysis is highly desirable, as well as a demonstrated ability to evaluate investment opportunities in the pre-IPO or micro-equities space.


Compensation:

  • CTC: ₹12 lakhs per annum (₹9.60 lakhs paid monthly + ₹2.40 lakhs annual confirmed bonus).
  • Performance Bonus: Additional performance-based incentives.
  • Growth Path: Successful analysts can transition to an Associate role within Artha India Ventures’ PRIME Division, leading to greater responsibilities and decision-making power in portfolio management.
