Role Overview: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Head of Finance and Accounts to oversee the financial operations of Artha Group. This role is not just pivotal, but strategic in managing accounting, MIS, budgeting, cash flows, and planning, as well as raising debt and equity. The Group Head will report directly to the Board via the CEO and will be responsible for setting up robust financial processes and controls to support the group’s ambitious growth and international expansion. This position is designed to be a pathway to the CFO role within 1-2 years. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Oversee the entire finance function of the group, including accounting, MIS, budgeting, and cash flows across various units. 

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the group’s growth objectives, including international expansion. 

Capital Management: Manage the group’s capital, including treasury operations and fundraising (both debt and equity). 

Investment Evaluation: Conduct financial analysis and evaluate potential investments, focusing on IRR and overall financial viability. 

Process Improvement: Establish and maintain efficient financial processes and controls, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 

Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and CEO, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning and strategy. 

IPO Preparation: Lead efforts in preparing the group entities for potential IPOs, including financial restructuring and compliance. 

Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 

Bank Engagement: Prepare and engage with banks to raise debt, including preparing necessary documentation and financial models. 

Investor Relations: Engage with investors to prepare equity financing, ensuring thorough preparation of investment proposals and financial presentations. 

 

Qualifications: 

Education: A Chartered Accountant (CA) is a must. A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. 

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record in managing capital, fundraising, and treasury operations.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and calculate project IRRs. 
  • Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial insights to the Board and CEO. 
  • Bank and Investor Engagement: Proven experience in preparing and engaging with banks for debt raising and with investors for equity financing. 
  • Compliance: In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to finance and accounting. 
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable with modern financial software and technology to drive efficiency and innovation in economic processes. 

 

Compensation:  

CTC: ₹50 lakhs per annum (₹45 lakhs monthly salary + ₹5 lakhs annual confirmed bonus). 

Performance Bonus: Attractive performance-based incentives. 

Carry and ESOP: Eligibility for carry and ESOP after a 12-month cliff.
